Frequently asked
Is tinnitus curable?
For most people tinnitus does not disappear, but it becomes far less noticeable with the right treatment. About 80% of patients with moderate-to-severe tinnitus report substantial improvement with combined sound therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Can hearing aids treat tinnitus?
Yes for many patients. Amplifying ambient sound reduces the contrast between silence and the tinnitus signal. Modern hearing aids also include dedicated tinnitus masking programs.
When is tinnitus urgent?
Sudden one-sided tinnitus, pulsatile tinnitus (matching your heartbeat), or tinnitus with vertigo or sudden hearing loss should be evaluated within 72 hours — these can indicate treatable conditions.
